Gharara

Fitted to the knee, then a dramatic flare from a joined panel.

The traditional gharara is a masterpiece of proportions, fitted cleanly from the waist down to the knee, where it flares dramatically outward from a signature horizontal seam. This gathered knee join—often highlighted with an intricate decorative band or gota—is the defining feature of the garment. Because the volume is anchored below the knee, the gharara carries the weight of heavy embellishments exceptionally well and falls beautifully even when seated, making it a highly practical and stunning choice. We craft these in rich silks, brocades, and jamawars, adorned with everything from delicate pearl scatterings to dense zardozi. Prices for our bespoke ghararas start at Rs. 180,000, requiring 8-10 weeks for delivery.
