Mehandi

The mehandi is a celebration of color, movement, and joy. When selecting a garment for this event, the primary consideration should be freedom—you need a piece that allows you to stand, mingle, and dance comfortably for hours. We strongly recommend lighter, more fluid silhouettes such as the sharara, which offers an unrestrictive, sweeping flare, or a softly tailored straight shirt with straight pants. The color palette typically embraces vibrancy; think marigold yellows, bright turquoises, fuchsias, and fresh greens. For embellishments, we focus on lighter, more reflective hand-work like mirror detailing (sheesha), gota, and delicate silver or gold threadwork, rather than heavy, dense zardozi. This keeps the garment lightweight and dynamic. Since mehandi outfits are less heavily encrusted, they generally take 6-8 weeks to complete. We advise starting your consultation well in advance to allow time for custom dyeing to achieve those perfect, vivid shades.
