Frequently asked
Made-to-measure bridal and formal couture, from our atelier in the Walled City of Lahore to brides at home and across the world.
Where is Zauq Boutique located?
Zauq Boutique is a couture atelier in Kinari Bazaar, Rang Mahal, in the Walled City of Lahore, Pakistan — at 855-F / 856-F. It is one of the heritage bridal addresses of the old city, and you are welcome to visit by appointment.
How much does a custom bridal lehenga or outfit cost?
Because every piece is made to order, the price depends upon the customization — the fabric, how dense the hand embroidery is, and the finishing. There is no fixed rack price. Tell us your design and function and we will give you a made-to-measure quote. Prices are quoted in Pakistani Rupees.
Do you ship worldwide? Can you deliver to the UK, US or Canada?
Yes. We deliver across Pakistan and ship worldwide, including to brides in the UK, US, Canada and the Gulf. Worldwide delivery charges apply and are quoted before dispatch; any import duties in the destination country are the customer's responsibility.
Is everything really made to measure?
Yes — Zauq is a made-to-order atelier, not a stock retailer. Every outfit is cut to your measurements and finished with hand embroidery by our own karigars. Two fittings are included before final delivery, and nothing ships until it fits.
Can I order without coming to the studio?
Yes. Many of our diaspora brides order remotely. We walk you through the current collection on a video call, guide you on measurements, and keep you updated at each stage. You can start on WhatsApp from anywhere in the world.
How long does a bridal outfit take to make?
A bridal commission is best started 8–12 weeks ahead, because the hand embroidery is the long part of the work. Lighter formal pieces can be quicker. We give you a realistic timeline at consultation rather than promise a date we cannot keep. There is more in our journal article on how long a bridal lehenga takes.
What is a farshi lehanga, and how is it different from a sharara or gharara?
A farshi lehanga has wide, floor-trailing panels for a regal fall — the statement choice for barat. A gharara is fitted to the knee then flares from a joined panel; a sharara flares in one continuous line from the waist with no knee seam. We explain each silhouette, with photographs, in our journal.
What kind of embroidery and handwork do you do?
All of it is done by hand — zardozi, dabka, resham and pearl work — by our own karigars, with no machine work at all. We use pure fabrics and genuine jewellery materials set into the embroidery. Our journal has a full guide to Pakistani hand embroidery.
Do you make Nikkah, Mehndi, Barat and Walima outfits?
Yes — we make for every wedding function: modest, refined Nikkah pieces; lighter Mehndi outfits made to move in; densely worked Barat lehangas built for the entrance; and cleaner Walima silhouettes. You can browse by occasion from the Collections menu.
How do I start an order or book a consultation?
Tell us the function and the date and we will come back with fabric options and a realistic timeline. Start on our contact page, or message us directly on WhatsApp — it reaches the same team that answers every bride.
